Dentures are a great option for anyone living with missing teeth. No matter the reason you lost them, replacing missing teeth will give you your smile back! Dr. Mihran Asinmaz and Dr. Armand Asinmaz work with patients to help them achieve their ideal set of pearly whites. By using comfortable, perfectly fitting dentures, patients gain confidence and better oral health at West Broward Dental Associates.
Dentures for Every Smile
Dentures replace missing or removed teeth, and can be removed and put back in at any time. Depending on the replacement needed, dentures will be partial or full – either used to replace a few teeth, or an entire arch.
Denture Options at West Broward Dental Associates
Conventional Full Dentures
Conventional full dentures are used when all of the teeth inside of the mouth must be removed. After the teeth are removed, the gums are given time to heal. It may take a few months for the gums to fully heal, but this time is essential to ensure the best fit.
Partial Dentures
Partial dentures are great option, if the patient is able to keep some of their natural teeth. Partial dentures replace the missing teeth easily, and require no surgery if the teeth are already missing or removed.
Immediate Full Dentures
Immediate full dentures provide patients with a faster, more seamless solution. Measurements are taken before the teeth are removed, giving Dr. Asinmaz time to work on a custom set of dentures. When the dentures are ready, the teeth are removed, and the new custom set can be placed immediately. The patient doesn’t have to go without teeth for any period of time, but follow up visits at our office will be necessary. While the gums heal, it will change the shape of the jaw, and the dentures will require refitting. After healing is complete, the dentures will be altered for a perfect fit.
What to Expect With Your New Dentures
When dentures are custom made by a professional like Dr. Asinmaz, over time they will feel natural to you. However, some people find that when they first put in their new dentures they feel bulky, or they don’t sit snug against the gums. It’s important to understand that dentures take time to get used to, and may require some adjustment to achieve an ideal fit.
No matter the issue, Dr. Armand, Dr. Mihran, and the staff at West Broward Dental Associates are committed to their patient’s comfort and will work with you as you adjust to your new smile.
Caring for Your Dentures
Although dentures are not your natural teeth, they should be treated with just as much care. Remove plaque and leftover food by brushing before you take them out. After removing your dentures, they should be placed into a glass of room temperature water, or into a cleaning solution made specifically for dentures. Avoid using hot water, as it will warp the shape of the dentures. If adjustments are needed, or your dentures feel uncomfortable or loose, don’t hesitate to call West Broward Dental Associates.
