Root Canal Treatment Coral Springs
Creating Pain-Free Smiles
At West Broward Dental Associates, our dentists understand the struggles many patients have with getting a root canal. The countless myths associated with this type of treatment cause individuals to assume the procedure will cause much pain; however, this is untrue. Dr. Mihran and Dr. Armand want to make it very clear that a root canal alleviates extreme discomfort by targeting the source of it – the infected pulp. By removing it, we can create a pain-free, healthier smile that lasts. Give us a call if you would like to discuss your options for root canal treatment.

Do I Need Root Canal Treatment?
Our dentists want to do everything we can to save your natural tooth and avoid possible extraction. This is why we will recommend a root canal if:
- You have dental decay that has spread to the innermost layer of your tooth
- You have badly cracked or damaged a tooth
- You have undergone multiple procedures on one particular tooth
- Unseen trauma to a tooth
- An abscess or infection that exists at the tooth root
What Happens During a Root Canal?
Most root canals can be completed in a single appointment; however, depending on the tooth, you may be required to return for a second visit.
At the start of your appointment, our dentists will begin by administering local anesthesia. This will numb your mouth and ensure you remain pain-free throughout your visit. If necessary, we can also provide dental sedation.
We’ll then use a dental dam to isolate the tooth and prevent any moisture from reaching the affected area. After creating a small opening in the crown of the tooth, we will use specialized instruments to begin clearing out the diseased portions of your tooth. This will include the root canals and pulp chamber. Once the pulp is removed, we will sterilize the interior layers to ensure no bacteria remain before injecting a biocompatible solution known as gutta-percha. This helps maintain the structure of the tooth and replaces the former pulp.
The tooth will then be sealed, and a custom dental crown will be placed over the affected area so that it heals properly and strengthens over time.
